The cryptocurrency market remained steady over the weekend, with Bitcoin and other major tokens trading within a narrow range. This stability followed the release of a weak US nonfarm payrolls (NFP) report on Friday, which contributed to cautious sentiment across digital assets. Despite muted movements in the broader market, several altcoins drew increased attention due to sharp price actions and technical signals.
LayerZero surges 185%, Midnight hits new high, Pi Network trades sideways
LayerZero soars past August highs
LayerZero (ZRO) experienced a remarkable rally over the past few months, rising from $0.7097 in August to $2.02. This increase represents a gain of more than 185% from its August low. LayerZero’s market capitalization now exceeds $813 million, with a daily trading volume above $258 million following a 35% jump.
The token moved above the significant resistance level at $1.3378, which marked its highest point on August 25. Breaking through this threshold invalidated a previously established double-top pattern, commonly seen as bearish in technical analysis. Surpassing this pattern indicated renewed bullish momentum for ZRO.
LayerZero traded significantly above its 50-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA), reflecting strong upward momentum. On October 2, the token formed a golden cross pattern, an indicator in technical analysis observed when a short-term moving average crosses above a longer-term one, often signaling a bullish trend.
Technical indicators showed further strength: ZRO moved above the Supertrend indicator, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) continued to climb, and the Average Directional Index (ADX) reached 50.9, the highest in recent months. A rising ADX generally signals a strengthening trend.
LayerZero has demonstrated robust momentum, piercing through multiple resistance levels and technical barriers, with the ADX highlighting strong trend continuation.
Analysts project that a modest pullback to $1.3378 may occur before ZRO resumes its uptrend.

Midnight rallies after analyst predictions
Midnight (NIGHT), a privacy token launched by Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, saw notable gains in recent weeks. Interest in the token increased significantly after Weiss Ratings named it a top project to watch, and Hoskinson commented that Midnight could exceed the achievements of Zcash, a well-known privacy-focused cryptocurrency.
From a low of $0.0150 in July, NIGHT soared to $0.0529, the highest since March 28. It surpassed the resistance level of $0.041, which had served as the ceiling since May 31, confirming a bullish breakout. The appreciation carried the token to the upper boundary of the Bollinger Bands, often a sign of overbought conditions.
Following key analyst endorsements and a strong price breakout, Midnight’s rally reached new yearly highs, yet technical signals now suggest increased volatility ahead.
The ADX climbed to 52, signaling a robust uptrend. However, the RSI jumped to 86, well into overbought territory, suggesting that a retreat to the $0.041 support level may soon materialize.
Mini dictionary: Bollinger Bands are chart indicators that plot bands above and below a moving average, providing a relative definition of high and low prices based on standard deviation.
Pi Network remains in a tight range
Pi Network (PI) showed little momentum over the past months, lagging behind assets such as Near Protocol and LayerZero. The token reacted weakly to ongoing network improvements, including the upcoming Protocol 28 upgrade.
Price action remained confined within a narrow range, as shown by the token’s position near the 50-day EMA. The RSI dipped below the neutral level of 50, and the ADX moved lower, indicating that trend strength has faded.
Analysts expect PI to trade sideways, with downside risk towards the key support level of $0.0692, last reached on July 14.
Mini dictionary: Pi Network is a blockchain project claiming to enable mining via mobile devices, seeking broader adoption through accessibility, but has faced criticism regarding token liquidity and unclear mainnet launch timelines.

Ken Griffin explains "AI crash" in detail: computing power is similar to aviation, three major traps—"marginal pricing", "depreciation period" and "corporate budgets"
Ken Griffin, founder of Citadel, believes there are three major potential pitfalls in AI computing power investment: GPUs and airlines share similar structures—once supply exceeds demand, marginal prices will plummet; the high rental premium for outdated GPUs is unsustainable, and investment firms' 7-to-9-year depreciation models are facing revaluation; enterprise AI spending has shifted from trial and error to precise ROI calculations, aiming to save costs wherever possible, which conflicts with the massive capital expenditures of tech giants.
