Justin Sun's 8,000-word Reflection on His Space Journey: If You Want Something, You Have to Get It Yourself
BlockBeats News, January 23, Beijing Transcender Manned Space Technology Co., Ltd.'s "Transcender One (CYZ1)" is expected to achieve its first manned flight in 2028. Currently, there are more than ten paying space tourists, and Chinese actor Huang Jingyu has become the 009th space tourist. Regarding this first domestic manned spaceflight, some users have inquired about the technical challenges and market prospects of the "space journey."
On this issue, TRON founder Justin Sun gave his first answer on Zhihu with an 8,000-word post. He stated that he had completed a space flight on August 3, 2025, aboard Blue Origin's New Shepard (NS-34 mission). Regarding the domestic commercial manned spacecraft program, he believes this marks the transition of space travel from "an experience for the few" to "a reality accessible to more people."
When discussing market prospects, Justin Sun pointed out that in the short term, space tourism may still be seen as a "luxury" or a "gimmick." However, if the industry can accumulate flight experience into manufacturing, operations, talent, and standards systems, it is expected to expand in the future to broader application scenarios such as microgravity experiments, materials and drug development, and payload testing. He emphasized that safety and compliance must always come first. Justin Sun stated that for China's commercial space industry, "I hope it will be fast, but even more so, I hope it will be steady," and called on the market to show more patience and understanding for engineering, testing, and failure reviews, beyond just focusing on ticket prices and hype, to truly promote the sustainable development of space exploration.
In the article, Justin Sun stated that his longing for space originated from a childhood sense of belonging to deep space, and the launch of Shenzhou 5 in 2003 made him realize that "going to space" is not just science fiction, but an achievable reality. After booking the flight, he endured a long four-year wait and finally made the journey on August 3, 2025. The author believes that the $28 million was not a transaction, but a "destination" of fate. After experiencing pre-launch nerves that led to frequent bathroom visits, weightlessness during the flight, and challenges such as facial deformation and breathing difficulties from a 5.5G overload during landing, he finally landed safely. He stated: Space travel is not a romantic adventure, but a cold and realistic engineering miracle.
