Comparison with recent whale activity

This move comes after another whale established a large position in XRP on the same platform. In August, a separate trader opened a $51.10 million XRP long at an entry level of $1.0685 starting on August 19. On August 22, the same entity increased the holding with an additional $23.89 million at an average entry of $1.2533. This sizable position resulted in $11.51 million in open profit at the time, while the wallet’s total account value reached $70.24 million, reflecting a strong long bias in its portfolio.

During the same period, market sentiment among top XRP traders on Hyperliquid leaned bearish. At the end of August, 16 out of the platform’s top 20 XRP traders held short positions, primarily between $1.22 and $1.52 with 20x leverage. Several of these short positions faced notable unrealized losses as market conditions shifted.

Trader Position Type Entry Price Position Size Leverage Account Value Win Rate
Grade S Wallet Long $1.4002 $1.04M 20x $5.08M 99.1%
August Whale Long $1.0685 / $1.2533 $51.10M / $23.89M 20x $70.24M 100%

Current open positions

In addition to the active XRP long, the Grade S wallet currently maintains three open trades. These include a $997,500 position in DOGE at 10x leverage, entered at $0.082613 and marked at $0.082717. The second trade is the $1.04 million position in XRP at 20x, while the third is a $1.95 million short in ZEC at 10x leverage, entered at $972.0296 and currently marked at $1,144.56. The ZEC trade has moved 17.75% against the trader. Collectively, these open positions have generated an unrealized loss of $291,100, with the majority due to the adverse move in ZEC.

The position management and overall profitability suggest the Grade S whale continues to employ high-risk, high-reward tactics, using substantial leverage across various assets while closely monitoring market opportunities.

Xaif described the Grade S whale’s performance by stating that this trader “doesn’t miss,” reflecting the wallet’s impressive track record and high win rate across recent trades on Hyperliquid.
