Golden Cross Signals a Potential Bull Run: 5 Altcoins That Could Outperform If Crypto Turns Higher

  • Bitcoin’s 50-day moving average is moving above its 200-day moving average.
  • Historical price action suggests a Golden Cross does not eliminate short-term corrections.
  • UNI, HBAR, GIGA, ALGO, and NOT could be watched if broader market momentum improves.

Bitcoin is making a technical move that has garnered interest from the entire crypto world before. The 50-day moving average is in a “Golden Cross” formation above the 200-day moving average that traders look for. In general, the pattern is used as a longer time frame indicator than price movement. The arrangement does not, however, ensure a continual upward direction of movement. Bitcoin has seen such pullbacks during past market cycles and the characteristics are evident here as well. In the previous cycle, there was a 20% correction after the signal, followed by a larger bull cycle.

Its history has focused more attention on the actions and reactions of the broader market if Bitcoin continues to hold its technical course. In that case, the adoption of other cryptocurrencies may assume significance as the market sentiment improves, leading to a surge in demand for cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin. Uniswap, Hedera, Gigachad, Algorand and Notcoin are on the spotlight these days. Because each project is different and has a different use case, it is hard to make direct comparisons of potential responses. Yet, their performance may offer clues on the health of the market beyond the larger cap cryptocurrencies.

Uniswap (UNI): DeFi Activity Could Put UNI Back on the Radar

Uniswap is a well-known decentralized exchange (DEX) protocol in the cryptocurrency industry. The UNI token is closely tied to activity around decentralized finance (DeFi) and Ethereum-based trading. DeFi trading may also be more prominent with an improvement in market liquidity. UNI would then be a coin for the broader recovery to keep an eye on.

Hedera (HBAR): Enterprise Blockchain Use Remains the Main Focus

Hedera has developed a distributed ledger network focused on enterprise applications and transaction efficiency. HBAR is used within that network for fees, security, and other network functions. Its performance can be influenced by developments surrounding enterprise blockchain adoption. A stronger market could place renewed focus on HBAR if trading activity expands.

Gigachad (GIGA): Memecoin Demand Could Drive Volatility

The most extreme part of the altcoin market, with the greatest risk is called the “Gigachad” segment. It differs from projects that involve infrastructure in that community interest and speculative demand dominate its market activity. It renders GIGA very sensitive to market sentiment. When risk appetite goes higher, traders may keep an eye on its liquidity and trading volume.

Algorand (ALGO): Layer-1 Adoption Remains a Key Factor

Algorand is a blockchain network designed for scalable transactions and decentralized applications. ALGO supports network operations and remains part of the broader layer-1 blockchain sector. Its outlook could depend partly on renewed activity across blockchain applications. Stronger market conditions may increase attention toward established layer-1 assets.

Notcoin (NOT): Telegram Ecosystem Keeps NOT in Focus

Notcoin emerged from the Telegram ecosystem and gained attention through its large user community. The project remains connected to the expanding Web3 activity surrounding Telegram and The Open Network. NOT can experience significant changes in trading activity when market sentiment shifts. Continued ecosystem development could remain an important factor for investors watching the token.

What Could Happen to Altcoins After the Golden Cross?

The Bitcoin Golden Cross provides a potentially constructive technical signal, but confirmation may require sustained price strength. Short-term volatility remains possible, particularly because similar signals have previously been followed by corrections. For altcoins, broader liquidity, trading volume, and market sentiment will likely remain important factors. UNI, HBAR, GIGA, ALGO, and NOT represent different areas of the market, giving traders several categories to monitor. If Bitcoin maintains its strength and capital begins moving toward alternative cryptocurrencies, these five tokens could receive increased market attention.

Tonight, a "dovish rate hike"?

The Federal Reserve is almost certain to raise interest rates tonight, but the key issue is "what will be said after the hike." Citi characterizes this move as a "fine-tuning" adjustment, suggesting there is no inevitable future rate hike, yet warns that if Chairman Powell does not provide clear forward guidance, it will trigger significant market volatility. Goldman Sachs bluntly stated that there is insufficient economic foundation for this rate hike, with inflation being merely a one-off factor, and expects this to be a "signal-less rate hike."

JPMorgan: "Open source disruption" and "AI safety" are not issues, there is still room for capital expenditure in the next two years, semiconductor equipment will become the "new bottleneck"

JPMorgan believes that open-source models are not a threat, regulatory disruptions are only short-term, and cloud vendors’ leverage remains low—the fundamentals of computing power investment have not changed. It forecasts that the capital expenditure of the seven major tech giants will soar from $443 billion in 2025 to $1.577 trillion in 2027, with semiconductor equipment becoming the core bottleneck of the supply chain and a new round of price increases expected in wafer foundry and advanced packaging.

Micron executive: Storage determines AI limits, substantial new capacity will come after 2028

Micron executive Sumit Sadana stated that memory bandwidth and capacity have become the core factors determining the performance ceiling of AI systems. In the face of structural imbalances between supply and demand, Micron expects to increase capital expenditure to over $45 billion in fiscal year 2027, but due to process complexity, substantive new capacity will not be released until 2028. Additionally, long-term supply agreements are reshaping the industry's business model, and humanoid robots will trigger the next wave of massive demand.

Goldman Sachs warns top clients: AI momentum trading shows unprecedented cracks, recommends hedging

Goldman Sachs has issued a rare warning to top clients: deep structural cracks are emerging in AI momentum. The AI-themed basket has dropped nearly 45% from its peak, with the one-day performance gap between short-term and long-term momentum reaching a five-year high. Capital is accelerating its shift from semiconductors to software. Goldman Sachs explicitly recommends that investors with AI exposure start hedging.
